BREW WITH US Workshop 1: How to make Elderflower Champagne

Get your ticket now!

Cometh the season folks! The plant that we first started brewing with. It made a sweet, euphoria inducing champgane that we named EBULIS, coming from its latin European variety of this plant - Sambucas Ebulis that means 'bubbling over with excitement'...

In this practical workshop you will make 5 litres of your own Elderflower champgane which will be available to collect and bottle by the 28th of June - the 1st July.

The abundance and edible/healing properties of the Elderflower tree is one of the inspirations that led us to set up Old Tree Brewery. Growing everywhere in Britain, from the wildest hedgerows to the cracks in concrete of roadside walls offering two of the best ingredients for mental and physical health benefits with an incredible taste... The idea to set up a brewery to be like this plant grew on us and begged the question – why don't we don't we have useful and edible fruit and herb plants like this growing everywhere!?

We will spend 2 hours foraging, drinks tasting, eating a meal prepared with ingredients from the forest garden and learning about botanical brewing history.

16.00 – Meet up outside FIELD HOUSE for a sensory tour of the Drink Forest garden and a group forage of all the Elderflowers in the area :-)
16.30 – Botanical Drinks tasting and presentation on the history of alcohol consumption and fermented drink culture in the British Isles followed by the D.I.Y
